FOR SOUTH AFRICAN SCHOOLS

AI Literacy Belongs

in Every Classroom.

Not as a subject to fear. Not as a shortcut to discourage. As a literacy — the way reading, writing, and arithmetic are literacies — that every South African learner deserves access to.

THE GAP WE ARE CLOSING

Most South African school curricula have not caught up to what AI tools actually are, how they work, or how to use them responsibly. Learners are encountering these tools outside the classroom — through phones, through friends, through trial and error — with no framework for understanding what they are actually using.

FAIR SA exists to close that gap. Not by banning the tools. By teaching learners and teachers to understand them.

WHAT WE OFFER SCHOOLS

Teacher Workshops

Practical sessions for educators on what AI tools actually do, how to identify AI-generated work responsibly, and how to bring AI literacy into existing lesson plans.

Learner Sessions

Age-appropriate sessions that explain what large language models are, what they can and cannot do, and how to use them as a learning companion rather than a shortcut.

The Access Is Power Curriculum

Our free book, structured into ten teachable chapters, each with community action points that translate directly into classroom exercises.

Resources for Educators

Ongoing access to updated materials as AI tools and best practices evolve — so educators are not tracking every change alone.

WHY IT MATTERS FOR SOUTH AFRICA

Every generation faces a moment where a new technology reshapes the economy around it. The learners in South African classrooms today will either enter that economy as builders or as bystanders.

The difference is not talent. It is exposure, framework, and early access to genuine understanding — the three things FAIR SA is built to provide.
